Within the project "Support for youth employment in the IT sector", on May 4 2023, a promotional event was organized in the premises of the Mostar trade fair.
At the event, the results of the project "Supporting young people in employment in the IT sector" were presented, followed by statements for the media, followed by the awarding of vouchers for the equipment purchased by start-ups, the awarding of certificates for participants of the 1st training cycle (digital marketing specialist, word press developer and QA tester) and presentation of mobile application "Shtela"
The project is implemented by REDAH in partnership with the City of Mostar, the University of Mostar, the company IT Department Mostar and the Employment Service HNŽ-HNK.
The project manager and director of REDAH Ivica Sivrić, the director of the company's IT department Mostar Marko Laco, the vice-rector for international cooperation of the University of Mostar Sanja Bijakšić, and the mayor of the city of Mostar Mario Kordić addressed the media and those present.
Also, in the final phase is the realization of the mobile application "Shtela", which will serve employers and the unemployed in finding a job. The SHTELA application will be available until the middle of the 5th month of 2023.
In addition to these activities, interviews of participants with employers were organized during the fair.
REDAH in partnership with the City of Mostar, the University of Mostar, the company IT odjel d.o.o. Mostar and the Employment Service of HNŽ-HNK is implementing the project "SUPPORT TO YOUTH EMPLOYMENT IN THE IT SECTOR", which will last 21 months with a total value of 400,182 KM, of which the amount of EU grant funds is 312,932 KM. The project intends to reduce the discrepancy between the currently recorded large number of unemployed young people and the expressed need of companies from the IT sector for a specific occupational profile. The local partnership will initiate a process with planned activities that will create methods and tools for long-term sustainability through the Local Action Plan for employment of the City of Mostar.
The Local Partnership for Employment Mostar is one of 20 partnerships established in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the project "Support of the European Union to Local Partnerships for Employment - Phase II" (LEP II), financed by the European Union with 4 million euros, and implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO). . This project aims to contribute to the improvement of employment in local communities through local partnerships for employment and improve the skills and opportunities for employment of persons in a disadvantageous position on the labor market.
