On January 31, 2025, the founding assembly of the Herzegovina Rural Development Network was held in Čitluk. The network is consisted of non-governmental organizations that actively work on improvement of living conditions in rural areas of Herzegovina and expressed need and interest to liaise and improve cooperation. This activity is part of the European Union project "Establishment of the Network for Rural Development of Herzegovina – HeRuDNet." The assembly was attended by 16 NGOs.
At the founding assembly, key representatives of the network were elected: the president and vice president of the network, as well as the president of the assembly.
Additionally, members of the Board of Directors were appointed, who will play a key role in guiding and directing the network's activities.
During the assembly, the network's statute was adopted, as well as decisions necessary for the official registration that create laying the foundation for its future operations.
The network remains open to new members, and all interested parties will be able to get information on how to join and details about the membership procedure once the details are announced.
The lead project partner is the Association for Economic Development REDAH Mostar, which, together with partners, the Agricultural Cluster Old Herzegovina from Trebinje and the LINNOVATE Foundation from Livno, will commit to implementing the project in establishing a functional and sustainable network for rural development of Herzegovina, in order to improve the living and working conditions of the inhabitants of Herzegovina through its activities. The project will last for three years (2024-2027), with a total value of 662,133 Euros, of which the EU finances 90% of the project value (595,800 Euros).
