Micro, small and medium enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina have the potential to create growth and create new jobs. Intending to strengthen the economy of BiH, the EU4Business project of the European Union encourages the development of entrepreneurship, export-oriented sector, tourism and agriculture, as well as rural development.
For this purpose, a total of 10 million euros has been earmarked through a grant. The end users are micro, small and medium enterprises, farmers and entrepreneurs, with special emphasis on young people, women and vulnerable groups. The project also deals with improving the business environment in BiH. Results will be measured by new jobs as well increased exports and sales, as well as better use of EU funds.
The EU4Business project is worth € 16.1 million and is co-financed by the European Union (€ 15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (€ 1.1 million). The project has been implemented jointly by GIZ, ILO and UNDP since April 2018 until March 2022.

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic hit all industries hard, especially the tourism sector, both in the world and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In order to revitalize this sector, and especially the promotion of local tourism and outdoor tourism, the European Union has supported the EU4Business project "CIRO - World Heritage Trail", with the aim of increasing the number of visitors and improving the local economy by creating and linking content and offer. tracks open along the old railway line connecting Stolac, Ravno, Capljina and Mostar.
Through the project, which will last 18 months, it is planned to expand the tourist offer of Herzegovina, an area of rich cultural, historical and religious heritage, areas of authentic stories and interesting facts. The total value of the project is around 370,000 euros, of which the European Union has allocated more than 300,000 euros in grants within the EU4Business project.
The project is implemented by the Regional Development Agency for Herzegovina - REDAH, Čapljina, Stolac and Ravno municipalities, and the tourist agency Kula Turist from Počitelj, and the end-users are micro, small and medium enterprises, tour operators, tourist organizations, associations, local hotels, motels restaurants and sports clubs.
