REDAH organized trainings for bicycle guides for the Office for European Integration under the Government of the West Herzegovina County, within the project "Cycling routes for the improvement of the natural and cultural heritage of Herzegovina and Montenegro - Cycling Rural"
The training was organized due to the expressed need for the services of professional guides, created by expanding new bicycle tours within the cycling tourism offer of the project "Cycling Rural", and participants were members of cycling clubs and enthusiasts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
The lecturers at the training were long-term members of the Association for the Promotion and Popularization of Cycling "Herzegovina Bicikl", all to connect the tourist capacities of this region through sports and recreational cycling, ie cycling tourism. In addition, REDAH performed the certification process according to the Bike Friendly standard for different categories of facilities in the project area.
The project "Cycling routes for the improvement of the natural and cultural heritage of Herzegovina and Montenegro - Cycling Rural" is implemented within the second call of the Cross-border Cooperation Program Bosnia and Herzegovina - Montenegro 2014-2020. It started on October 1, 2019, and the implementation lasted 18 months. The total value of the project is 495,000 euros, of which the European Union is financing 400,000 euros.
The European Union is financing this project to strengthen and diversify the quality of the tourist offer, as well as the development and promotion of cycling and outdoor tourist offer in rural areas of the cross-border regions of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project will result in the creation of a new and more attractive tourist offer under the brand "Cycling Rural", which will be included in the tourist offer of both countries, as well as in the overall tourist offer of the Adriatic hinterland.
