As part of the European Union project "Establishment of a Network for Rural Development of Herzegovina – HeRuDNet" from March 24 to 26, 2025, a three-day training on Strategic Planning was held in Neum.
The topics covered on the first day of the training represented the theoretical part of what was later applied through practical work over the next two days, in the form of group work and presentations by the groups.

The purpose of the training was to introduce participants to the basic concepts related to strategic planning, as well as to develop practical skills for strategy development through various methods such as presentations, discussions, and exercises.
The training was also aimed to lay the foundation for further development and guidance for participants through instructions and coaching. During the training, the content and structure of a strategy were presented, and agreements regarding the next steps in the process of creating a strategic document, including tasks and communication, were also discussed.
The training was led by Ivica Sivrić, a graduated agronomist and director of the Association for Economic Development REDAH, and Slavica Ašonja, a graduated economist.
The training also included a discussion on the current situation of rural areas in Herzegovina, with Ivica Sivrić emphasizing the importance of involving every individual in their local community.

The lead project partner is the Association for Economic Development REDAH Mostar, which, together with partners, the Agricultural Cluster Old Herzegovina from Trebinje and the LINNOVATE Foundation from Livno, will commit to implementing the project in establishing a functional and sustainable network for rural development of Herzegovina, in order to improve the living and working conditions of the inhabitants of Herzegovina through its activities. The project will last for three years (2024-2027), with a total value of 662,133 Euros, of which the EU finances 90% of the project value (595,800 Euros).
