On Tuesday, July 12, 2022. in Ravno, the third workshop was held for the creation of a management plan for the ĆIRO cycling route.
The workshop discussed strategic focus, strategic goals, priorities and measures, the text of the cooperation agreement, as well as deadlines and responsibilities and the dynamics of subsequent activities.
It is planned that the document will be finalized by the end of July, 2022, and that the cooperation agreement will be signed.
The key conclusions that were adopted at the workshop are that the participants submit their proposals for measures and projects in accordance with the strategic goals of the plan, and that they check the readiness of their municipalities/municipalities and cities for cooperation in the implementation of the activities defined in the Management Plan.
The next, fourth, and final workshop will be held in Mostar, at the end of July, 2022. As part of the workshop, a press conference and the signing of the agreement are planned.
The workshop was attended by key players in the development of tourism from the area covered by the ĆIRO trail and who present ĆIRO Cycling Route Forum: representatives of municipalities/municipalities and cities, tourist organizations, public institutions, travel agencies, private tourist facilities, cycling clubs, non-governmental organizations.
The purpose of the activity is to develop a "Management Plan for the ĆIRO cycling route". These workshops are conducted by REDAH in cooperation with the Herzegovina Bicycle Association, financed by the EU and GiZ. The aim of the workshops is to help the holders of tourism development from the area through which the trail passes, but also from all over Herzegovina, to objectively analyze the current position and condition, and to jointly establish preconditions for future development through the creation of a document that will be systematically, coordinated and planned to deal with the management of the Ćiro bicycle path, thereby ensuring its functionality and sustainability, but also to be one of the generators of tourism development in the entire project area.
At the workshop, certificates of the Bike Friendly standard were delivered to the owners of facilities from the Stolac and Ravno areas, who in the previous period had successfully completed the activities of harmonizing their business with the requirements of the standard.
